Student Health Care
We hope that you are healthy and happy throughout your time at university. However, should you need it, the University of Surrey offers an extensive health service to support you.
If you are unwell and need to see a Doctor or a nurse, please call Guildowns University Medical Practice on 08444 773051.
If you are unsure which service best suits your needs, please refer to the flowchart above or click on the link below.
Student Health Care is a nurse-led service providing health information, advice and support. Expert nurse advisors, specialising in student health, offer one-to-one advice, as well as health enhancing workshops and clinics specifically for students. Details of all services can be found at:
http://portal.surrey.ac.uk/scs/health/hc
You do not need to register to use this service and drop-in clinics are available daily.
Health Care Services
It is recommended that all students register with an NHS doctor as soon as possible after starting. Guildowns Medical Practice provides an NHS doctor service and is also located within the Medical Centre. They are not a University department and can only be contacted on: 08444 773051. You need to register with the NHS to benefit from these services, and can do so by completing a registration form at the Guildowns reception in the Medical Centre or online at:
www.guildowns.nhs.uk
The form must be completed and taken to Guildowns with proof of identification. For a full list of NHS doctors in the area, please see:
www.nhs.uk
The flowchart above and the link below will guide you through the services available.
