The University of Surrey wants to ensure a culture of inclusivity and to provide a supportive environment for all. In order to monitor progress towards this goal, high quality data is needed on all aspects of the staff and student experience.
It is also a requirement under Section 149 of The Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) Regulations to publish and use equality information to understand the effect of our policies and practices on protected groups.
Quantitative and qualitative data is used including HESA statistics, internal staff and student data, staff and student survey results, diversity week feedback and feedback obtained through focus groups, forums and general consultation with our stakeholders.
This section of our website is dedicated to providing relevant data relating to various aspects of University life including staff and student profile data. We will not publish information which would breach confidence or the Data Protection Act 1998.
|Where we identify gaps in the data available, we will address these as per the first key objective within our Equality Scheme 2012-15 which outlines our approach to Equality over the next four years. Click here to view our Equality Scheme
