The recent advances in computational power has produced an information revolution. There is now a need to harness this power for the next step: interpretation of information. The importance of language as document medium means that a key area of contents technology is language processing. My interest is the interface between computing and language, with specific regard to the multilingual lexicon. I have worked on the computational processing of various languages including Russian and Chinese. My teaching areas are Systems Analysis and Design, Language Engineering, Intelligent Systems, Cognitive Processes (UG) and Globalisation and Computer Systems (MSc).
