This course aims to give students an understanding of the methods of production and handling of biomaterials for use in the design, development and testing of clinical devices for implantation, surface contact or percutaneous surgical techniques.
In particular they will be aware of the structural nature of the materials and the consequent implications of this structure to the performance, in vivo, of the materials in use.
