Introduction
The MSc multi-disciplinary programme has been run by the Centre for Environmental Health Engineering (CEHE) since 1992 and has a proven reputation throughout the world. It has been regularly updated to take account of new developments and meet market needs.
The CEHE programme recognises the ever increasing need for improved management of environmental resources in both the industrialised world and the developing countries. Worldwide it is recognised that around 80% of communicable disease is attributable to deficiencies in water treatment and supply and wastewater collection and treatment systems. However, the institutional framework needed for the effective management and regulation of these systems may often be inadequate.
The CEHE programme, therefore, emphasises the protection of existing environmental resources and public health through the management and engineering of risks associated with the water cycle; water and wastewater treatment, water resources management and waste management.
The programme is modular and can be studied on a full-time basis over one year or on a part-time basis over a minimum of two years by attendance during the day and /or evening.
