STAFF ACCOMMODATION

To help newly appointed staff or staff on short term contracts we have a range of accommodation options from single rooms to flats and houses. Application forms are availalable to download at the bottom of this page. For information about availability and bookings please contact Tim Gilmore by email PMS (Accommodation)@surrey.ac.uk. The University has a Staff Housing Policy.

Please note: All houses, flats and single rooms are furnished. It is not possible to offer unfurnished lets or to remove furniture from our houses or flats. If you have your own furniture you should take this into consideration when applying for accommodation.

Manor Park
Manor Park is our new student village located a twenty minute walk or short bus ride from Campus. In addition to student housing there are furnished houses, flats and single rooms for staff. These are available for newly appointed staff who are relocating to the area or staff employed on short contracts.

Town Houses are three storey and have three bedrooms including one with ensuite shower, a kitchen/dining room, living room and study. They are furnished and have a cooker and fridge freezer. The town houses are suitable for families of up to five. Rent for 2009/2010 is 340 per week including utility bills, broadband, insurance and council tax.


One Bedroom Flats are fully furnished and have a double bedroom, a living room/ kitchen and bath or shower room. They are suitable for couples without children. Rent for 2009/2010 is 193 per week including utility bills, broadband, insurance and council tax. Click on the link opposite for a layout plan.


Two Bedroom Flats are fully furnished and have a double bedroom, a single bedroom, living room/ kitchen and bath or shower room. They are suitable for couples with one or two children. Rent for 2009/2010 is 242 per week including utility bills, broadband, insurance and council tax. Click on the link opposite for a layout plan.


Single Ensuite Rooms in shared flats of six sharing a kitchen dining room. These rooms, for single occupation, are about 13 square metres and are furnished with single bed, desk, wardrobe and drawers. Rent for 2009/2010, 107.10 per week including utility bills, broadband, insurance and council tax. Click on the link opposite for a layout plan.


Blackwell & Manor Farm
Single staff rooms in shared houses
The University owns several cottages on farmland at Blackwell Farm and Manor Farm about three miles from the University. These are available for newly appointed staff who are relocating to the area or employed on short contracts. Two or three staff share each house on a single occupancy basis although, if available, whole houses can be let to staff with families. The houses are let using assured shorthold tenancy agreements, for a minimum of six months and for no longer than two years. Tenants may give one month's notice at any time.


The houses are let on a 'self catering' basis with tenants responsible for cleaning their own rooms and the shared areas of the house. Houses are furnished. Due to the rural location of these houses tenants probably need a car though it is possible to walk or cycle into the University. Rent per room is (2009/2010) 91.80 per week including council tax, insurance and all utility bills except telephone. Rent is collected by direct debit due 1st of each month.
