APPLY ON-LINE

The On-line application process will be open for Continuing Students to apply for 2011-12 academic year from 01 December to 17 December 2010. Diploma Nurses starting their course on 7 March 2011 may apply online until 20 February 2011, after which they should contact us for a form if they wish to apply for a room.

Before clicking on 'Apply Online' at the bottom of this page, you are strongly advised to read the rest of the information on this page and to read the Residents Guide which includes our Conditions of Residence at http://portal.surrey.ac.uk/accom/ug/policy

These conditions form part your housing contract with the University and tell you what is expected of residents. In particular your attention is drawn to the following conditions:

  • Students living in University Owned accommodation are licensees. Your licence is granted because of your intention to follow a course of study at the University. If you cease to follow a course of study at the University you will be required to leave residence
  • Students living in Accommodation managed for the University by Housing Associations will be required to sign a separate tenancy agreement. Details about this will be sent to students allocated these residences
  • Your licence (or tenancy in the case of Housing Association accommodation) is for a fixed period and there are financial penalties if you decide to leave residence before the end of the period
  • You are required to conduct yourself in a responsible and safe manner and not to disturb other residents
  • You may not sub-let your room or let anyone else live there
  • You must pay rent by the due date either in full or by direct debit instalments
  • The address in England and Wales at which notices (including notices in proceedings) may be served on the Landlord by the Licensee/Tenant is: The Accommodation Office, University of Surrey, Guildford, GU2 7XH
  • All residences are non smoking including bedrooms and all common areas
  • In exceptional circumstances you may be required to change rooms

What happens after you apply?
You can log in and check/change your preferences at any time up until your room is allocated. It is advisable to do this to check that all your preferences have been saved. If you have successfully entered accommodation preferences on the application system you will receive an email within 5 hours confirming the preferences you have chosen. If you do not get this email please log back in and check your preferences and lifestyle choices appear - if they don’t please re-enter them and make sure you click the ‘Continue’ button on each page. If you still experience difficulties contact us for advice.
